How To Connect AirPods To New iPhone?
How To Connect AirPods To New iPhone? You can connect AirPods to your new iPhone or iPad by opening the case with AirPods inside and holding it near the device. AirPods also automatically switch between devices that are playing audio, like your iPhone or iPad.
AirPods automatically pair with any Apple device that you use with the same Apple ID. This includes your other iPhones and iPads, Mac computers, and Apple TV.
1. Open the Charging Case:
You can manually connect your AirPods to a new iPhone by opening the charging case next to or near your iPhone and pressing the setup button on the back of the case. This should prompt a set of on-screen instructions to appear. Follow the instructions to complete the process. When the AirPods are fully connected to their case, the status light on the AirPods will be white and will stop flashing amber or red.
AirPods can also connect to other Apple devices with the same iCloud account, such as an iPad. The process for connecting your AirPods to an iPad is similar to the one for an iPhone. Make sure that both the iPad and the AirPods are powered and connected to the same Wi-Fi network. You can also open the Control Center on the iPad and select the AirPods icon to view a list of the available audio devices.
If you can’t see the AirPods in the list of Bluetooth devices on the iPad, try restarting both the iPad and the AirPods. You can also try resetting your AirPods by putting them back in their case, closing the lid, and then opening it. Press and hold the Setup button on the back of the case for up to 10 seconds, until the status light flashes white.
2. Press and Hold the Setup Button:
Once you’ve got your AirPods paired to your new iPhone, you can enjoy all of the features they offer. For example, you can use them as your default audio device in the lock screen and Control Center. You can also set the double-tap and press-and-hold functions for each earbud, and you can enable the ability to hear your phone’s notifications directly in your ears with Apple’s Live Listen feature (which is only available for iPhone models with wireless charging).
One interesting feature that comes with the AirPods that you don’t need any other accessories or apps for is Siri integration. The AirPods can automatically connect to any Apple device that you log into with the same Apple ID — including your Mac, iPad, or Apple TV. The feature is called Announce Messages, and it lets you hear incoming text messages, calendar events, reminders, and more on your AirPods without the need for your iPhone to be unlocked or nearby.
To activate the feature, open the case with the AirPods inside and hold it next to your iPhone. A setup animation will appear on the screen.
When the animation ends, tap Connect. The case’s status light should flash white. You can connect the AirPods to up to five different devices with the same Apple ID. Once you’re done, you can easily pair them again on any other Apple device that supports Bluetooth.
3. Tap Connect:
If you’re signed into iCloud, your AirPods should automatically connect to the iPhone, iPad, Mac, or Apple TV that was last used. This is a great feature for multitasking or switching between devices, and it works even better when you’re using a pair of second-generation or later AirPods with the Apple H1 chip.
On other devices, you’ll need to manually switch between audio sources. To do this, open Control Center and long-press the Bluetooth icon. Then select your AirPods from the list of Bluetooth devices that appear.
You can also turn off automatic switching on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac. To do this, choose Settings > [your AirPods], then tap Bluetooth. You’ll find this option in the Bluetooth & Other Devices section. When you change this setting, your AirPods aren’t automatically connected to the last device that you used them with.
To reconnect your AirPods to the last device that you used them with, make sure that the case is closed and as close to the device as possible. Then follow the on-screen prompts that appear to set up other features, like Hey Siri. When you finish, the case status light should blink green. If the status light doesn’t flash, you can try again or reset your AirPods. See Reset Your AirPods for more information. Then you can start over with a new set of paired AirPods.
4. Wait for the Pop-Up:
If you see an AirPods update popup appear, follow the on-screen instructions to install the latest version of AirPods. You may need to restart your iPhone after installing the update. Once the AirPods have been updated, you can connect them to your new iPhone as described above.
If your AirPods don’t automatically connect to the new iPhone, there may be a problem with Bluetooth connections or your iCloud settings. You can try putting the AirPods back in their case, closing the lid, and then opening it again. You can also open the Settings app and tap the blue, circled “i” next to your AirPods. If your AirPods appear in the list and are not connected, tap Forget This Device at the bottom of the AirPods’ details screen. Then follow the on-screen instructions to connect them again.
You can also try manually connecting your AirPods to a different Apple device. To do so, make sure your AirPods are charged and in the case, then open the lid. Press and hold the setup button until the status light on the case flashes white. Then bring the case close to your other Apple device and follow the on-screen instructions. The setup prompt may also guide you through other settings, such as enabling Hey Siri on the new device. This method works for most AirPods models. Including the second-generation AirPods and the newer iPhone XS, XS Max, and iPhone XR.
