How to Connect iPhone to TV With HDMI?
How To Connect iPhone To TV With HDMI? There are a few different ways you can connect your iPhone to a TV, depending on your needs. You can use an HDMI adapter, or you can use Apple’s AirPlay wireless protocol to mirror your screen on the TV.
To do this, you will need a Lightning Digital AV Adapter (or a Lightning to VGA adapter) and an HDMI cable. You can find these at any electronics store.
1. Plug the HDMI Adapter into the Lightning Port:
Whether you’re trying to showcase some holiday snaps or show off your mad gaming skills on a bigger screen, connecting your iPhone to the TV is pretty straightforward. There are a few ways you can do this – with AirPlay, an HDMI cable, or a smart TV with built-in support.
Using an HDMI adapter is the most straightforward way to connect your iPhone to the TV. You can find these at most electronics stores – they look like small black rectangles with an HDMI connector on one end. Plug the adapter into your iPhone’s Lightning port – either the one on the bottom (iPhone 6 and later) or the one on the side (iPhone 5 and earlier). Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to your TV. Make sure the TV is turned off and set to the correct input source before continuing.
You can also use screen mirroring with a TV that supports AirPlay 2 or higher and is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your iPhone. Open Control Center on your iPhone and tap the Screen Mirroring icon. Select your TV or streaming device and enter the code displayed on the TV if prompted. Once the connection is established. Your iPhone’s display will appear on the TV, and audio from the phone will be played through the TV speakers.
2. Plug the HDMI Adapter into the HDMI Port on Your TV:
While it may not be as convenient as AirPlay, connecting your iPhone to a TV with an HDMI cable can be useful if you don’t have Wi-Fi available or want to avoid using it. To do this, you’ll need an adapter that has a Lightning connector on one end and either an HDMI or VGA connector on the other (Apple makes one called the Lightning Digital AV Adapter, but any HDMI to Lightning adapter will work).
Plug the HDMI end of the cable into a free HDMI port on your TV. You’ll usually find these ports on the back of your TV, but they might also be on the side or the front. Make sure the port is labeled and note its number. Connect the Lightning end of the adapter to your iPhone. Then, use the TV’s remote control or on-screen menu to set your TV to the HDMI input corresponding to the port you plugged the cable into. The screen of your iPhone will appear on the TV.
If you’re using a wired HDMI connection, some apps might not support mirroring. This is because some video apps require an HDCP (High-Bandwidth Digital Content Protection) compatible device to play.
If you encounter this problem, try using a different HDMI cable or updating your phone to the latest version of iOS.
3. Connect the HDMI Cable to the HDMI Adapter:
In a perfect world, connecting your iPhone to a TV would be as simple as plugging one end of an HDMI cable into the device and the other end into the TV. Unfortunately, this isn’t always the case, especially when using third-party adapters or cables. Thankfully, there are a few troubleshooting tips you can try that can help you get your iPhone to connect to a TV using an HDMI cable.
Start by making sure your HDMI adapter is working properly. If it’s not, then you may need to replace it. Alternatively, you can also try restarting your iPhone. This can sometimes trigger the adapter to be recognized by your TV.
Once you’ve got your HDMI adapter working properly, you can start to enjoy your favorite videos and photos on a bigger screen. Just make sure to use a high-quality HDMI cable and that the TV is set to the correct input source.
To mirror your iPhone’s display on your TV, simply swipe up from the bottom of the screen and then tap “Screen Mirroring”. You should see a list of available devices, including your television. Select your television and then follow the on-screen instructions to finish connecting your iPhone to your TV. Once you’re finished, your iPhone’s screen will be mirrored on your TV. You can then navigate your phone’s apps, videos, and photos on the big screen.
4. Connect the iPhone to the TV:
Using an HDMI cable or adapter allows you to connect your iPhone to a TV and mirror the screen of your device. This is useful if you want to stream videos or showcase photos or games. It’s also a great option if you don’t have a Wi-Fi connection or your network isn’t working well.
Plug a Lightning-to-HDMI (or VGA) adapter into the Lightning port on your iPhone. Connect the other end of the cable to an HDMI or VGA input on your TV or monitor. Turn on your TV and set it to the correct input. Your iPhone’s screen will now appear on the TV, and you can control it with your TV’s remote. Depending on the TV model, you may need to enter a passcode on your iPhone to complete the connection.
To disconnect, open the Control Center (swipe down from the top of the screen on iPhone X or later. Or swipe up from the bottom of the screen on older iPhone models). Select your TV or AirPlay-compatible TV and tap the Screen Mirroring icon. You can also connect your iPhone to a TV or computer using screen sharing. This method isn’t as fast or reliable as AirPlay. But it’s a good option if your Wi-Fi connection isn’t working or you don’t have a lot of time to wait for a streaming video to finish downloading.
